15 Feb 2013

This week didn't quite go as planned.  We had planned to go to Utah for President's week and spend sometime with family there.  Unfortunately Gus started to get sick on Saturday and stayed home from church.  On Tuesday night, Sarah started with a fever.  At midnight, she crossed the temperature threshold and we had to take her to the ED.  The computers were down for maintenance at the ED but they were pretty quick in taking care of us.  We were on our way back home shortly before 3am.

The hospital is one of the few areas that I check in with foursquare.  On that visit, I got mayorship of the ED.  That means that I have checked in to the ED more than anyone else over the past 60 days.  Part of our life I guess.

Well, the plan was to leave today to drive to my uncle Russ's house and drive the rest of the way on Saturday.  On Wednesday morning, we got a call that Sarah was positive for RSV, again.  At least this time her ANC is high and she doesn't need to be treated with the tent.  It also meant that she shouldn't be traveling so we had to cancel our trip to Utah.  The good news is that I was able to go skiing with a member of our ward today.  We went up to Steven's pass and had a fun day of skiing.

Thanks for all the love and support.

  1. Hey, Nathan, I haven't seen much of you lately. I like seeing your constant strength in these postings. My daughter has a classmate with a non-cancerous blood disease that acts similarly to a form of leukemia. The girl has been mostly in the hospital for some months with severe immune impairment (ANC = 0, very scary). She is doing well now and just returned to class on Valentine's day. It reminded me to check up on you and Sarah.

I'm really pleased to see that Sarah is doing well - we'll just try to ignore the viral outbreaks, every kid gets those.
